Noongar Language Singing Workshops with Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse

Learn to sing in Noongar from Gina and Guy’s catalogue of contemporary songs in Noongar language!

Participants receive a booklet with lyrics and key words. Each week we teach a song (or two!) grounded in the four principles of Koort (heart), Moort (family/community), Boodja (land) and Koorlangka (children/legacy), and discuss their meaning to us individually and as a community. Participants will finish the series with a small concert for friends and family.

Classes are for adults, on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Kwinana Public Library.

Who is teaching the classes?

Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse will teach you how to sing from their catalogue of contemporary songs in Noongar language!

Can I bring my child?

Children aged 12+ may be able to attend with you. Please contact the Library Programs Team on 9236 4300 or programs@kwinana.wa.gov.au to discuss before registering.

What if I can't attend all four sessions?

Please only register if you are planning to attend all four sessions. Drop-ins/one-offs are not possible. Partial refunds will not be given.

What if I am sick or unable to make it to one of the sessions?
